LinkedIn is one of the most rewarding AND frustrating platforms to be on in 2024

Rewarding in that it is easily the best platform to get started on if you want to build your unique brand in Cybersecurity

“pfft .. what would I want to do that ??” .. I hear you say

Consider this .. your Cybersecurity job is just that … a job that can be taken away at your employer’s discretion

Ask the thousands of people in tech jobs who discovered this reality in 2023 and 2024!

Unlike your job title and its perks, which vanish once you leave your job or get laid off .. your brand remains with you wherever you go.

Take the time to build your unique voice; I GUARANTEE it will pay off in the long run. .either by monetizing your skills or your brand landing you a much higher-paying cybersecurity job

And this is where the frustrating part comes in.

All too often, these are the posts I see from Cybersecurity professionals on LinkedIn:

  • I am pleased to announce that I have passed XYZ certification
  • I am pleased to announce I have joined XYZ company
  • I am pleased to announce I have completed XYZ training

While there is nothing wrong with sharing this information .. it ignores the power of LinkedIn as a platform for sharing your cybersecurity knowledge.

In this article, I'm going over three simple reasons why you should start doing this in 2024.

1 — A Built-in User Base

LinkedIn differs from other platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok as it caters to working professionals.
