Understanding the journey of a course creator

I launched my very first course in 2021 with high hopes

The topic was Machine Learning .. way before all the GenAI hype started

I was targeting people who wanted to understand how AI works and create a career around it

I priced it at around 50 USD and anticipated that even if a hundred people bought it, then I would have a nice little side hustle going

To say I was naive would be a bit of an understatement!

Needless to say, my course flopped into Internet hell, never to be seen again

BUT .. I took the learnings from those and created my second course

again .. crickets

Then, on the third course .. things started to pick up

The learnings I had gotten from how to edit videos and improve the flow of slides started to translate into students signing up

I was not earning thousands of dollars .. far from it

But the wheels started to turn

As of today, I have over 39K students on Udemy and other platforms like Gumroad.
